A funeral service for Delores Craig was held on Monday, September 23, 2024, 1:30 p.m., at the Swea City Community Church in Swea City, Iowa, with Pastor Todd Hartsock as officiant.
Delores was laid to rest at Harrison Township Cemetery, Swea City, Iowa.
Delores Mary Lee Craig, the daughter of Marten and Allis (Mullarkey) Geerdes was born on May 30, 1934, near Swea City, Iowa. She died on September 14, 2024, at the Accura Health Care Center in Bancroft, Iowa, at the age of 90 years.
Delores was educated in the Swea City area at a country school. She married Lowell Craig on May 11, 1966.
Delores was a member of the Lutheran Church. In her free time, she enjoyed crafting, sewing and doing word searches. Her love of nature and animals was evident in her work on the farm alongside her parents and Lowell. She found great joy in sharing her baked goods with family and neighbors.
She is survived by her sister, Lucille Troff, sister-in-law, Lana Geerdes, nieces and nephews, Randy Troff, Sharon Work, Val Ell, Sandy Troff, Jim Mullarkey, Mark Geerdes, Niel Mullarkey, Shelly Geerdes, Heidi McCormick, Holly Geerdes.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lowell, siblings, Kenneth (Frances) Mullarkey, Don (Helen) Geerdes and Bob (LaVonne) Geerdes, brother-in-law, Wendell Troff, and nephews, Ron Geerdes and Rick Troff.
